You ssh into the router:
Code: Select all
ssh root@192.168.1.1
opkg update
opkg install something

http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/techref/opkg
>HOw can we get themes made by You. on ur plugin page..
themes with great menu system., thanx
The themes I have work with the patches I made to show all the menus. I asked a while ago about exposing the full menu system - there wasn't any response. During that time, I added proprietary commercial font outlines - the 'Gargoyle' is a mathematical curve from Wexford Oakley in one theme & I think Tribe or Envision for the other.
Because the themes expect a certain structure in the pages generated by gargoyle_header_footer the themes wouldn't work on ordinary Gargoyle routers. And it would be unethical to distribute the theme now that it uses commercial typefaces as SVG elements.
So I'm sorry, but they aren't available. Lets try to stay on the topic of 1.5.10 please.

I successfully flashed my TP-LINK WR1043ND v1.2 to the latest Gargoyle and also added the sysupgrade but I can't find the TOR function in the menu even if it says its installed by default under plugins!? How can I access the TOR menu? Thanks.

looking at the tor init script, the menu manifests itself if your router has > 32MB of RAM. This is the comment in the /etc/uci-defaults/init_gargoyle_tor_plugin file:
# Tor only seems to work on routers with 64MB+ memory, only enable if available memory > 32MB

hmm... ok, I did a "free" via telnet and got this:
root@WR1043ND:~# free
            total used free shared buffers
Mem: 29260 28460 800 0 532
-/+ buffers: 27928 1332
Swap: 0 0 0
That means TOR is not compatible with this router then? I need to get one with 64mb flash or more.. arghh..

I just bought this router because it was the recomended router and took for granted that TOR would work.

Is it possible to add TOR support? Or do I have to buy a different router... thanks

http://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/doku.php?id=tor
Introduction
Tor with Gargoyle provides plug and play anonymous access to the internet. Routers running Gargoyle 1.5.1 and above with a USB port have support Tor. It can be run on a router with 32MB of memory only if SWAP is enabled, but 64MB is recommended.

Only supported in OpenWrt Barrier Breaker (currently trunk). Until Gargoyle moves to that branch, you won't get support for this router. Doubt they will change to this branch too soon.
