Out of curiosity, what's the fastest router that Gargoyle runs on? The 4300 has a 560MHz chip, which is close to the top for Atheros chips. Is there anything else faster?

Thanks for the info on the router.
In the process of adjusting my rules as well I think I have buggered them up and for the life or me I can't find the default values.
Can someone please provide them?
I've attached mine for information.

You can grab a copy off the /rom/etc/config/qos_gargoyle file.
you'll need to overwrite your existing config with it, and then go to the GUI and hit save settings to apply it to the firewall.

pmerrill wrote:Still investigating but one curious behaviour. I changed the rules and rebooted. I then ran speedtest.net. The very first time I ran it (with no one else on the network) I got like 80Mbps!!! The second and subsequent times I ran it I got 40Mbps. Not sure exactly what was causing the problem there???
A x86 router may be the go. I have an old PC with an Intel CPU onboard (no fan). The box only uses 18W so not a heavy drain on power either. I'm thinking I could setup a pretty nifty box to run Gargoyle.
Question is, can I get Gargoyle to run on a PC easily?
this is because of ACC. Run speedtest 10x in a row and you will see that each time your max speed will drop even further. i have 25mb download and enabled ACC and run speedtest 6x and my max speed was 8mb after that. if i disable ACC, everything works fine.

I came here to post this same problem. My WNDR3700v2 cuts my speed from 70-80Mbps (wireless, depends where I'm sitting) to 30Mbps. I have a 100Mbps account which is frustrating not to be able to use fully, but a ridiculous 300gb "data plan" which forces me to use QoS. I have it set up so that streaming video from to the computers and anything to the roku and ps4 is limited at 3.5Mbps to prevent pre-buffering, and everything slows to 1.5Mbps after 10gb downloaded in a day. With my ISP you are allowed to go over your "data plan" 3 times in a rolling year. Any more than that and they provide you the service of forcefully bumping you up to the next higher plan (which is 30 bucksmore but only adds 100gb more to the "data plan"). I'm so sick of CableOne.
Anyhoe. I was led to believe that the WNDR3700 was a good router for use with gargoyle. Is that not the case?
