Thanks for reporting these issues.
I've made a few updates which should address these problems / increase reliability of formatting. Please try the latest version from the git repo.

Just done some testing
1.5.X (Built 20120206-2124 git@a1560b1)
I would suggest that gargoyle is no longer detecting the USB drive and therefore not working at all?
can somebody else confirm this?
