Yep, that was it. QoS was enabled with a 10Mb link limit. Disabling that gets me back to similar performance to the gateway for speedtest and ping (is this a default with the new build?).
Not sure this would account for some of the slowness that seemed to be happening last night to my HASS box but will keep an eye on it over the weekend and see if anything crops up. I’ve also uninstalled the adblock plugin for the moment just to reduce potential variables.

Ok, ran it for 24 hours with no problems then reinstalled and reenabled the adblock plugin. After which had trouble connecting to internet or even the router. I suspect there may be a compatibility issue between the new build and adblock plugin. Even after uninstalling it again the router response via the web interface is very flaky and sluggish

AdBlock takes a lot of system resources, so be careful.

Did a reflash back to the development version but still getting some dropouts where the web interface comes up as page not found when navigating between screens.
Reflashed again back to the release version of 1.11 and it seems to be stable and a lot more responsive. I had been running adblock on 1.11 before the timezone issue without any apparent problems.
At the moment memory use is at 19% and processor load is at zero. Haven't been game to reinstall adblock - had enough excitement this weekend
