You need to use gateway mode with DHCP Wired.

Then you are going to need to somehow tell your first router (not Gargoyle) how to route towards the Gargoyle subnet.
This isn’t a Gargoyle problem.

OR, make Gargoyle first. Then you might be able to use Gargoyle to route to the other one.
Or, keep Gargoyle in dumb switch mode, but you won’t get any of the features out of it.
There’s no way to keep them on the same subnet without using wireless bridge or dumb switch.

I think you need to rethink your network topology.

well... it's a modem router and this gargoyle is one I picked up at a yard sale... so, I think I'll do the dumb switch... It seems to be working fine and the original router has bandwidth IP control

Can you please tell me about the exact way t do this process? I have already tried this once but due to some mistake all the settings got changed and then I had to put my Epson printer troubleshooting.
But now I don't want to make the same mistake again.
