flashing Archer C7

Trying to flash 1.10.0 to Archer C7 V2 US. Will not flash from the stock firmware. I get the error code 18005 and it will not accept LEDE or Gargoyle.

TP Link Firmware version 3.15.3 Build 180114 Rel.39265n

How do I go about removing the lock and flashing to Gargoyle.

I got it loaded, reverted back to older stock firmware, then LEDE to Gargoyle.

How far back a firmware did you need?

And, are you happy with the result?

I'm considering flashing C7 v2 to Gargoyle.

This also worked flawlessly for my C7 v2. It should be even easier these days, since you can flash the stable release (17.01.4 latest), which already has the GUI (LuCI interface) installed.
