Or is a clean install recommended
yes

If strange things start happening re-flash before posting about the problem.

Found something, not a big problem, guess a bug. Did a clean install, and custom MTU settings doesnt seem to be working/saving? keeps greyed out. what is the default MTU value used?

The default fan script is rubbish, but that isn’t Gargoyle’s fault
You might like to try mine:

Code: Select all

wget -O /tmp/install.sh http://lantisproject.com/gargoyle_mvebu/fan_daemon/install_fan_daemon.sh && sh /tmp/install.sh -install

What's the secret?
When I try to flash sysupgrade (1043в1), the router hangs on the update and does nothing. If I restart the browser - everything stays on the old (1.9.2) firmware.
I try 3 various brousers.
I am having the same problem with my D-Link DIR 825-b1. I am currently on 1.8.1 and tried the 1.9.x ones and still could not get it to upgrade. I did find the post titled "[SOLVED] D-link dir-825 b1 - FAT" (sorry it won't let me post a url link to it) and wondered if that is the problem because the upgrade file is > 7MB? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think I found a very bad problem :-(

WNDR3700 v1 flashed 1.10 without preserving the settings.

My config: Fritzbox 7490 broadband router -> wifi -> WNDR3700 with Gargoyle.

Fritzbox 192.168.1.1
WNDR3700 Gateway, client dhcp wireless, 192.168.2.1

WNDR3700 casting 2 wifi: 1) wpa2 protected, 2) Guests network active with client isolation.

Over the wpa2 protected wifi I can see all the 192.168.1.0/24 clients. This is not bad, I want it so I don't need to make a routing.

BUT!!! connecting to the Guests with client isolation, I can see again all the clients in 192.168.1.0/24. Every single client! My fritzbox, my computers, my printer and so on. I cannot see 192.168.2.0/24

I did it two times to be sure after a complete restore to default.

EDIT: I tried again with a different setup: wndr3700 with static ip wired, lan cable from the fritzbox into the wan port. It is the same... Connected to the guests wifi I can see 192.168.1.0/24 but not 192.168.2.0/24

That’s “expected”.
Client isolation isolates LAN.
Your fritzbox is effectively WAN in this scenario.

You will need to write a firewall rule to address this.
