Restrictions across midnight?

Post by rseiler »

How does Gargoyle handle a restriction crossing midnight, like M-F from 22:00 to 02:00? Is that not possible to do in the UI?

In OpenWRT, you'd have to use the "--contiguous" switch whenever the timestop number was smaller than timestart, like in the above example. You could of course edit Gargoyle's firewall file to do that, but I'm wondering if that's needed or if I'm missing something subtle in the UI.

Otherwise, I'd guess you'd have to make two rules.

You are correct.
But you can do a restriction with two time periods to account for this.
22:00-23:59, 00:00-02:00

Please be respectful when posting. I do this in my free time on a volunteer basis.

Ah yes, but I think you'd run into a problem there because while you'd want to apply 22:00-23:59 to Mon-Fri, you'd only want 00:00-02:00 to apply Tue-Sat. Maybe. This stuff is confusing.
