router drops out

Post by pkm »

Weird problem thats started recently, its similar to how a modem would drop connection and then resync. This with the router however is abit different in that the dropouts can occur quite frequently, and sometimes to the point where it will just not connect at all. During this time i look at the modems uptime and it seems to be normal no dropouts however the router does (using it as default gateway).

Now the problem i found is QoS. If i reinstall firmware to the router everything works fine, but once i start adding QoS rules for my games the router starts dropping out. I don't know if it cant handle it or what but TP Link WDR 4300 has some good specs to it to handle gargoyle.

Tried older gargoyle versions but it still happens. Dont know why this dropping out started happening all of a sudden.

Not sure if you still have the problem but you might need
to re-configure from a fresh flash.

Download the latest Gargoyle and update, but DO NOT keep settings

Make sure you re-configure fresh, and do it in steps.

Don't enable QoS but configure any other settings you need, then
start doing tests. Once you are up and working fine, backup
your config, then start messing with other settings and see if the
problem reappears.

It can happen that the config gets corrupted and only way to
correct it is to reconfigure fresh and NOT load an old config.
