TL-WR1043ND V2.1

Post by grayzone »

Installed Gargyle 1.7 on a new TL-WR1043 V2.1 and having a issue where the status screens contain no data. Plus when you try to set items on and do a save, the data is not saved.
Looks like the http://www.gargoyle-router.com/download ... actory.bin will not work with the V2.1 router.

Any ideas?
Thanks

BTW it does make the connection to the internet, so some of it works.

You need to try the OpenWRT Barrier Breaker 14.07 release

Try stock OpenWRT firmware on your router

If there are still issues, you may have a newer hardware revision
of your 2.1 router and you may need to wait for better hardware
support through OpenWRT before Gargoyle will work correctly
on your router.

Even though you have the 2.1 version, manufacturers can change
internal parts if their suppliers run out of components, or if they
can fine cheaper components elsewhere.

Yes, I did by installing Openwrt. Will wait and see if a newer update of Gargoyle will work.

For those with Ver 2.1 routers --- Use Gargoyle ver 1.6.1!!

It works fine with this router.

Two things:

1) I just purchased a TL-WR1043ND from this site and brought it up. The status page says:

Code: Select all

Gargoyle Version: 1.6.2
Model: TP-Link TL-WR1043N/ND v2
Is this really v2.1? How can I tell?

2) I recently built the git head for this router. How safe is this to install? It sounds like there may be some problems.

Code: Select all

7077892 Jun 4 21:35 images/ar71xx/gargoyle_1.7.x-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr1043nd-v2-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin
I didn't see any tags for 1.7.1 so I assume it was a snapshot.

Very nice software and hardware. Thanks!

it's v2.1 if you look under the router unit you see the hardware and serial number of your unit.
