TP-Link Archer C7 support?
Hello Folks
This post suggests support for the Archer C7 is a long way off:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4979&p=22703&hilit=archer+c7#p22703
But, this posts suggests it's already here - in OpenWRT at least:
https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php ... 52#p242952
Also, this page says 'All working from r41757':
http://wiki.openwrt.org/_detail/media/t ... tl-wdr7500
So, I was wondering if it's working in Gargoyle, likely to in the near future and which firmware would be recomended?
Thanks guys,
Morgan.

Re: TP-Link Archer C7 support?
Once Gargoyle is based on OpenWrt Barrier Breaker (14.07), they can support the Archer C7.
Re: TP-Link Archer C7 support?
Thanks drawz - how can I discover this information? Is there a road map to gargoyle development or tacking of OpenWrt?
Thx

Re: TP-Link Archer C7 support?
Hello all,
I'd enjoy a archer c7 v2 support too.
I switched from TL-WR1043ND to Archer C7 because of wireless crashes.
I really miss the congestion management from Gargoyle. It was awesome.
As Openwrt barrier breaker is in release and support C7 V2, could we expect this hardware be supported by gargoyle soon ? If it's not already...
I'm looking at informations to bring gargoyle QoS tools onto this router.
Crossing fingers.
Thanks for reading.

Re: TP-Link Archer C7 support?
Looks like a reasonable router. If found on sale today, you may have to wait a bit... and then one more upgrade for stability... Looks like it will be supported in the next release... see comments from Eric at v1.6.2 launch:
"This release is still based on the "Attitude Adjustment" (12.09) branch of OpenWRT but after this release, work will focus on porting Gargoyle to the latest Barrier Breaker (14.07) branch of OpenWRT. I expect to have a version running on Barrier breaker by late October/ early November."

For the Archer C7 v1.x 5GHz 802.11a/n/ac functionality is not supported, and likely will never be, since support for the AR1A (v1) variant of QCA9880 chip is not included in the open source ath10k driver. The Archer C7 v2.x uses the BR4A (v2) variant which is supported in ath10k so 5GHz 802.11a/n/ac is possible with Barrier Breaker.
Luci for Barrier Breaker does not supporting configuring 802.11ac via the web GUI (supported in Chaos Calmer trunk branch as of 10/2014).
Gargoyle 1.7.x is based off Barrier Breaker and non-trivial changes would have to be made to Gargoyle's webgui to accommodate 802.11ac configuration via the webgui.
I would not be surprised if 802.11AC isn't well or at all supported by Gargoyle until a later Gargoyle build based on OpenWrt Chaos Calmer final build or a later OpenWrt build.

Re: TP-Link Archer C7 support?
Thank you for yoour answer.
I hope that there is soon a CC based Gargoyle.
I buyed this Router after selling My WDR4300 because of AC but can't use it only in 2,4Ghz now.
