OpenWrt give dual functionality to routers

Post by nimarisia »

Does Tomato or OpenWrt give dual functionality to routers with USB ports? I'm thinking of getting a router that can be flashed with either Tomato or OpenWrt firmware to give it extra functionality. But the router will currently only have USB storage functionality. Does anyone know if after flashing with the new firmware if it will enable print server functionality as well?

hi Gargoyle can do both. If you have just one USB port then try and find a 2 or 4 port hub but they don't always work. It will depend on how much power the USB port on the rooter puts out if any.
