Hardware reset

Post by ruriruri »

Hi,

I tried to upgrade the firmware. After upgrade I can't get back into the gargoyle router after enabed WLAN and changed ethernet port to WAN.

I can see the AP on wireless, but I can not get pass the login page. After a while the WLAN light will dim and I can't see the AP anymore.

Is there a way I can reset the Gargoyle router externally with the reset button?

Both LAN and WLAN do not work..

Gargoyle Router made by Eric. So it's La Fonera.

I believe Eric did program the reset buttons for those devices.

If you cannot get into the device with a hardware reset, you
could always try and use Fon-Flash to re-flash the device.

That will reset everything back to defaults when you do that.

Can you remind me what is the reset procedure that Eric build in?

I have tried holding on to the reset button for a long time.

I haven't try 30/30/30 reset, because I bricked some router before.

fon-flash-windows.zip

I just use that version in Windows

Shouldn't need any other DLL's

Just download that, extract, and run - should be 1 executable file

As far as 30-30-30 reset - I thought only some broadcom's bricked

Not sure if any Atheros devices ever bricked with that.

But for Atheros - I think you just need to hold reset for 30 seconds.
