FritzBox in cascade mode?

Hi everyone,
I'm a big gamer and want to use the TL-WR1043ND with Gargoyle of course in front of a FritzBox 7490 to manage the traffic in a very busy home LAN to secure the bandwidth for my gaming traffic.
My question is with the TL-WR1043ND in front of the FritzBox 7490 and setting FritzBox 7490 into cascade mode http://tinyurl.com/gr9cuuf as I want to keep the VoIP and wireless, DHCP and other services served from the FritzBox and use the TL-WR1043ND purchased from this site managing the traffic on my very low bandwidth DSL link, is this a viable configuration?
