1.61 on Buffalo WHR-HP-G300N.

Everytime the router reboots (by software or unplugging power) all settings are lost, even the login password. Everything goes back to default.

Can anybody help?

I tried flashing using tftp and from inside the web gui.

I've tried using sysupgrade and factory.

Is there anything you recommend?

Can you please provide output of "logread" and "mount" command?

Sorry to let you guys down. I'm quite a n00b for OpenWRT, and I could not telnet into the router. Maybe I can get in somehow, but it is starting to look too difficult.

What I do know is this: the mounting is different from other routers. The procedure of

Code: Select all

mtd -r write AAAAAA.bin linux (or firmware)
bricks the router.

Any suggested procedure I can follow to get the router working?

How did you install Gargoyle firmware? From web interface?

From tftp at bootwait mainly. I also tried to update from the GUI of stock firmware several times.

The results are the same.

Are there any CONFIRMED users of Gargoyle 1.6.1 on WHR-HP-G300N who can tell me what they did?

Just read this thread: http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... f=8&t=5313 It surprises me because the compressed size of Gargoyle firmware is actually smaller than stock or DD-WRT

Telnet is turned off after you set initial settings on Gargoyle. You have to use SSH to connect to router afterwards. If you don't know how to do that, you can go to plugin section in web interface and install webshell plugin. After that please run "logread" and "mount" commands using webshell and post the output.

I've spent a bit of time on this already. Right now I'm running DD-wrt stably. Guess I'll just wait for confirmed reports that Gargoyle 1.6.x is working on this model. I will probably try again when builds with Barrier Breaker come out.

It's clear that there's something different about WHR-HP-G300N

Have you tried 1.7.0 yet? I'm curious since I too have a whr-hp-g300n.
