Buffalo WZR-600DHP2

Post by mattc »

Hi all

Really interested in Gargoyle and wondering if it will run on a Buffalo WZR-600DHP2?

Can't find the Buffalo WZR-600DHP for sale any more it seems.

I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks

Looks like you flash the WZR-HP-AG300H firmware images:

gargoyle_1.6.1-ar71xx-generic-wzr-hp-ag300h-squashfs-factory.bin
gargoyle_1.6.1-ar71xx-generic-wzr-hp-ag300h-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin
gargoyle_1.6.1-ar71xx-generic-wzr-hp-ag300h-squashfs-tftp.bin

If you have DD-WRT installed on that router - you may be able
to flash to Gargoyle using the sysupgrade.bin file

As always - be prepared to do recovery if there is a bad flash

Hi

Thanks for looking at this.. It seems to be the HP2 that is now available, wondering what the differences are..

they come pre-installed with openWRT which is cool..

I need to do some total bandwidth restrictions per time period and Gargoyle looks ideal, so hope I can get it working :)

M

Correction, looks like it come with DD-WRT instead

I just got the WZR-600DPH2.

I tried gargoyle_1.6.1-ar71xx-generic-wzr-hp-ag300h-squashfs-factory.bin and
gargoyle_1.6.1-ar71xx-generic-wzr-hp-ag300h-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin, both of which said:

Invalid firmware.

The openwrt-ar71xx-generic-wzr-hp-ag300h-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin also gives the same invalid message.

No wonder the firmware would not flash. The chip is BCM4707.
