Help unbricking a new WR841N

Got a new router today and tried loading 1.6.0 on it using the web interface.

No response at all from the router. A 30/30/30 will get the system light flashing really fast but it still won't ping or telnet in.

Is the solder method really the only way to get it going.

If I return it for warranty (saying it was updating firmware, but not admitting to 3rd party firmware) can they tell if it's been "Gargoyled" or will they just wipe it and send it back with orig. firmware?

Should I buy one from the gargoyle store and be done with it?

Try to press WDS button while router is booting and then try to ping it and see if it's responding.
