TL-WA901ND flash and revert.

Post by Trlsd »

Is there a revert file available for TL-WA901ND? Or could I just use the regular tp-link firmware from the gargoyle firmware upgrade page in case I cant to go back to stock firmware?

To revert back to factory firmware - you use the TP-Link firmware

The gargoyle downloads are 2 files

factory img = flash from a FACTORY firmware to Gargoyle

sysupgrade img = flash a Gargoyle version to another Gargoyle version

To revert to factory = use factory (TP-Link firmware) in your case

2x Asus RT-N16 = Asus 3.0.0.4.374.43 Merlin
2x Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH V1 A0D0 = Gargoyle 1.9.x / LEDE 17.01.x
2x Engenius - ESR900 Stock 1.4.0 / OpenWRT Trunk 49400

Alright, thanks. I thought that there was a special revert file to go back to Tplink stock. I will just use what they have on their website.

Hello.

Thanks for the great work with Gargoyle solution.
I flashed a TL-WA901ND v3 with Gargoyle (gargoyle_1.7.1-ar71xx-generic-tl-wa901nd-v3-squashfs-factory.bin).
Everything works perfectly. But...
I can't reinstall stock firmware back to the equipment. Should be pretty much straightforward: Firmware upgrade and upload firmware from tp-link.
(wa901ndv3_en_3_16_9_up_boot(141030).bin)
I get an error stating the firmware is not in a compatible format...

What am I missing? :)

[EDIT] Solved using an old TP-link firmware. Downloaded from here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/xd2pgg04n8r7g ... 8130503%29

This way I could revert to TP-Link firmware, then upgrade to latest TP-Link.
Now back to Gargoyle :D [/EDIT]
