Gargoyle on WNDR4000?

Post by Gigabit »

Hello,

Does the Gargoyle firmware support the NETGEAR WNDR4000? According to http://wikidevi.com/wiki/Netgear_WNDR4000, it has a BCM4718A1 CPU which is supported by gargoyle_1.5.6-brcm47xx-squashfs.trx. Does that mean it could work?

Thank you.

Since you haven't had a reply yet, my guess is no. I was considering getting this one after being unlucky enough to get a V3 of WNDR3700. It was either this or WNDR4500 that I was thinking of, but since neither are supported by OpenWRT, I decided to get the WNDR3800 for Gargoyle. This was ~2-3 weeks ago.

Glad I did though. The wireless seems to be very strong even with Gargoyle than vs. my 3700v3 - even though I'm not sure if the 'clearchannel' thing is supported via Gargoyle (I never received a reply about that here).. And I don't think the 4000/4500 were reviewed as being as good on wireless as the 3800 IIRC.
Netgear WNDR3800 w/Gargoyle 1.5.8 (using)
Netgear WNDR3700v3 w/Factory FW (now as backup)
Noticed wireless is stronger in WNDR3800 too.
