HYSTOU Intel Braswell Quad-Core N3160 Mini ITX PC x86

Post by ispyisail »

Hi all

Just received my x86 Mini ITX PC

Haven't installed Gargoyle yet but so far very impressed with the hardware.

Tip To save time don't use China post. They make the seller remove the battery. Just use DHL for an extra $10 and get it at twice the speed.

Supplied with you local power supply. In my case AU/NZ

Things get even better

It comes fully assembled but of-cause the first thing you do is pull it apart :)

Comes with windows 10, extra $30 bucks for a legit version

Don't bother with the 2 Meg RAM and 32Gig SSD version

Runs like a dog once updated (windows 10)

Update: Installed and running Gargoyle

Image

Install instructions are adequate but needs improvement for beginners.

First problem is the wifi hardware is not detected :(

Any tips are welcome to fault find this problem

Looks like the usual way is the lspci command?

But this command is not installed?

No wifi drivers included with x86 at all so that’s reason 1.
If you can tell me what card is in it I might be able to figure out what you need.

Model is controlled by a generic board detection script which probably has no idea what you have. I don’t think it will matter

Less than ideal.
Looks like you want the closed source wl driver, but i'm not 100% sure.

From the how-to
The Broadcom card works okay in AP mode with the brcmfmac driver, although a bit unstable. I prefer an Atheros card, so I'll drop in an Apple Airport Extreme card (ath9k supported).
