Today I tried to upgrade to
gargoyle_1.10.0-ar71xx-generic-dir-825-b1-fat-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin
Progress using firefox and chrome was continued progress, but no burn. After 5 minutes a refresh returned to admin url/192.168.5.1
I suspect the -fat-squashfs which is 7.6Mb exceeds binary size limit of modem, and fails accordingly.
Fairly confident I will not be the only one to discover this. The good news is that version 1.9.2 continues to work well.

I’d suggest downgrading to the non fat image. Then upgrading to the new non fat image, then reupgtading to the new fat image.

I understand that one of the images didn’t build properly for 1.10.0.

Staying away from routers like this is advised to be honest.

Thanks vm for advice. But the old Dlink/Gargoyle has been doing a fabulous job for many years so far.
If your suggestion works, will confirm here.
