Restored configuration on wrong device

Post by labou »

So a friend of mine, of course I didn't do this, restored a configuration from one device (a tp-link) to another different device (a Linksys) by accident. I tried a simple reset, a 30-30-30, and setting a static IP to get access and nothing is working. No ping no UI. Is my friend doomed or is there a way to bring the device back to life?

Failsafe reset is generally the only way to fix that. That’s a big no no.

30/30/30 does nothing.

Worked! Followed the steps to put it in failsafe, managed to get ssh access and ran a firstboot command followed by a reboot-f and I'm back in business . Thank you kind sir. And my friend thanks you of course
