USB port on router....

Post by Rooster »

Does Gargoyle interact with a routers USB ports ?
I power a raspberry pi from my TP-link 3600, but it looks like the power has gone off every now and then.... as if the USB had gone to sleep .?

Most router USB ports are designed to run devices with their own power supplies.
The RPi also has no data pins connected to its USB power so it can't negotiate power requirements with the host.
The router:
1. Probably isn't able to sustain the requirements
Or
2. Put the port into power saving mode

I don't think it's a good idea.
