DIR-601 A1 Bricked?

Well, tried DD-wrt didn't work out for me. So after messing around and letting a friend flash gargoyle, we couldn't remember passwords. Because no browser on my Linux would upload firmware I tried to tftp and something went wrong and no matter what I did I couldn't get recovery/emergency or even ping the router. I was about to smash the DIR but then I thought I would try the Internet port and bang! Didn't have a problem flashing gargoyle. I don't even think I bothered with dlink stock so if anyone is stuck last resort try it. Hope it saves someone the frustration.
