Issues with DIR-835 and PPOE/wifi Passwords

Post by humpda »

Hi everyone
Installed 1.8.1 on a revA Dir-835. Install went well but 'net would drop out whenever I enabled Wifi and created a password. Eventually went to Putty and compared the /etc/config/network before and after settings and realised that when I entered a wifi password it was substituting this for the PPOE password. WTF?? Is this something wrong with my unit and or install? Did a full factory reset and reloaded firmware to test this and it did it again. On Windows 10 my lan (not wifi) connection detects the connection name as home_5GHz which is the ssid of my wifi which is also weird. Can anyone shed any light on this? If I restart router all is good - but if I make changes, it recommits the wifi password as the PPOE password which is a PITA. :) Cheers

Is your browser auto filling any parts of the page for you?
(This is basically the one and only way this error happens)
