Support for MT7620A(N)

Post by iSkyun »

There are many MT7620A(N) router solutions in China.
Such as Xiaomi MiWifi Mini Router/Lenovo Newifi Mini Router/Youku YK1 Router/Lenovo Newifi…
Their hardware is almost the same, has 16/32MB of Flash & 128/256MB of RAM.
Its price ranges from $15 to $30.
I wonder if a version of Gargoyle is available to download?
There are many Gargoyles fans in China.

I'm going to second the motion for support of the MT7620A platform.

On OpenWRTs OpenSSL benchmark the MediaTek MT7620A does better than the Qualcomm QCA9880

QCA9558 720MHz 358 BogoMIPS
MT7620A 580MHz 385 BogoMIPS

Here are some routers based on the same MediaTek chip. And they are all capable of running OpenWRT.

I would be pretty cool to see the Gargoyle logo etched on the top of the first one.

If you're going to get one of these, this would be the one:

Removable/replaceable antennas

2 Watt power output! (Not sure if that is true)

Looks like most of the MT76* routers only have USB 2.0
Not the greatest for media sharing/streaming

These would definitely make good huge-home routers though.
