Development help/assistance

Post by Lantis »

I don’t know if someone put something in the water supply, but in this last week I’ve had 3 different individuals contribute changes, fixes and new devices to Gargoyle.

This help is GREATLY appreciated. :)

Please remember that ANYONE can contribute by:
- submitting bug reports
- testing new releases
- helping out users on the forums
- submitting code

Thanks for your continued support
http://lantisproject.com/downloads/gargoyle_ispyisail.php for the latest releases
Please be respectful when posting. I do this in my free time on a volunteer basis.

I am still at 1.10 but I would like to help with 1.11 development at this final stage. I should assume that:
- bug reports should be submitted to Github
- latest dev/rc-release is 1.11.x gargoyle-ispy 2019-January-29 04:33
- we should NOT preserve settings when upgrading from 1.10 (or earlier)
- latest code used in 1.11.x dev/rc-releases and accepting new pull requests is in base_on_openwrt_remerge branch

Am I wrong with any of these statements?

For developers, the rest of us use the form but no hard rules
- latest dev/rc-release is 1.11.x gargoyle-ispy 2019-January-29 04:33
Yes
- we should NOT preserve settings when upgrading from 1.10 (or earlier)
This rule is only for end users, If you know what your doing it doesn't apply. The config setting are not compatible and makes routers really unstable. End users blame bugs but really its something they have introduced. From my understanding this problem comes from OpenWRT?
- latest code used in 1.11.x dev/rc-releases and accepting new pull requests is in base_on_openwrt_remerge branch
Correct
