Can't logon to router (Solved)

Post by apvm »

I recently flashed 1.7.1 to 1.7.x, after uploaded to 1.7.x and changed password, I went straight to system and uploaded my backup configuration. Everything seems fine, I can connect to the internet and all my other clients can connect too but the problem is when I try to connect to 192.168.1.1 I do not get a login page but firefox/IE both report unable to connect. I double checked ipconfig /all and default gateway is 192.168.1.1 I tried to telnet in but it said can not connect via default port 23. Please help TIA

The problem is you restored a gargoyle_httpd file, and 1.7.X now used uHTTPd.

You'll have to do a fail safe reset. And either extract the settings manually or enter them from scratch again.

Thank you so much, don't want to enter them from scratch if I don't have to, can you enlighten me how to "extract the settings manually" TIA

your backup file you made is a compressed file. you should be able to open it up and look at the individual files.
