OpenVPN or any other VPN

Post by morpheus1976 »

Hi,
since a couple of days I am trying to make Gargoyle my OpenVPN router to hide the IPs of all clients connecting to it.

From my VPN provider I can get
configfile.ovpn and
certificate.pem

as configuration files. I know the destination, the port and obviously my user name and password.

Can anybody help me how to get this to work?
I tried everything that comes to my mind in manual and individual config file configuration of OpenVPN, but the most promising ERROR I received from Gargoyle was "settings saved but OpenVPN failed to connect, please recheck your configuration".

Thank you for your support!

P.S. If Gargoyle gave me the option I would settle for PPTP as VPN protocol..... Any chance to configure this through putty?

I don't understand what you are trying to accomplish. Are you trying to use your router as a VPN client to connect to a 3rd party VPN provider on the internet? Or are you trying to use your router as a VPN server to connect your clients from the internet and use NAT and / or LAN access?
