Installed openwrt 15.05 on Fonera 2.0g (fon2202) using FonFlash

Post by nestul »

Hello,

I have successfully installed openwrt 15.05 on my fonera using FonFlash (great utility) but while installing I spotted a line telling me something like:

Code: Select all

load -r -b 0x80100000 openwrt-atheros-vmlinux.lzma
but in the fonera 2.0g guide from openwrt web I read it should be

Code: Select all

Download the kernel: load -r -v -b 0x80041000 openwrt-atheros-vmlinux.lzma
Main difference is in the address 0x80100000 vs 0x80041000. Does it make any difference? Can I have any trouble with my installation due to this in the future? A little technical explanation would be great.

Thanks.

You are probably in the wrong forum, if it is OpenWrt, please visit this forum and ask a question here: https://forum.openwrt.org/

Hello, thanks for posting.

But my question really is about FonFlash utility and why it uses that address which differs from the one in openwrt guide. I hope someone or the creator may be able to answer my question.

Sorry  , I didn't know that the author of "FonFlash" was Eric Bishop (@Eric). I'm not sure, because the program does not have an "about", but I assume according to this post: viewtopic.php?p=254#p254 or viewtopic.php?f=8&t=157
