Method to set Ip address per use on ubuntu?

Post by dsalch »

Hi All,
I have a unique question. There is one ubuntu system in our house with several logins. Each login should have a different network access profile (meaning filtering / time controls / etc). Is there a way to set ubuntu so that each login gets a separate IP and operates all software under that IP?

If not, is there any other idea on how to have different logged in users act as if they were on separate machines with individual network access? The logins may be simultaneous or sequential.

Thanks!

Doesn't sound possible to me.
If any way to do it, it would be a giant hack and be done on the Ubuntu side.

Virtual Machines could have different IPs. That may be an option.
