Parental controls

Post by jonheil »

I give up. I've tried relentlessly to get Open DNS to work but it's not. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I don't even mind using another service for parental controls at this point, as long as it works. I need step-by-step newbie instructions please!

Sex-related sites. Have kids in the house who are at that age.

I have the pocket router. Set up the DNS servers to OpenDNS. What should the router IP and subnet mask be?
I have an OpenDNS account with settings to block all porn sites. I installed the OpenDNS updater and configured it with my OpenDNS account. I have an account set up with DNSoMatic and verified it IS sending IP address updates back to OpenDNS. Still not blocking stuff.

Thanks! I had it set for OpenDNS servers, not Open DNS Family Shield.
