Want to truly "unleash" my router.

Post by GargoyleNoob »

First of all, Merry Christmas! I'm reading through OpenWRT commands and I'm about to start toying with command line in via SSH. Before I go there, I was just wondering where to get to find plugin URLs. The only one I have is Lantis Project. This guy has some pretty interesting stuff, but adding this URL or the package tree URL didn't work. https://github.com/ericpaulbishop/gargoyle

That is the main repo for Gargoyle, so you do not need to add a URL for that one (it is built in).
If you add one from my site, it is largely the same, but will be more up to date.

I’m not aware of too many others

Oh cool. Any suggested commands for dropping/filtering packets on a particular lan device?

What are you trying to achieve? That’s a very broad question

Ok, so I already have my console on a static IP and a QOS rule for it here: https://gyazo.com/c38512d305187f41054cc20dc008d187

However, it still feels like I'm a hair behind what's happening in real time in my games; namely Call of Duty. Ports are forwarded, NAT is open, and UPNP is enabled. According to Wireshark, the game utilizes syn packets for player movement and ack packets for bullets. I'm trying to find a way to prioritize those packets specifically.

You can’t prioritise them any further than what you’re already doing in my opinion.
You’ve got minrtt on your gaming class right?

Ultimately the speed of light is going to be your limiting factor eventually

Yeah I use minRTT on my gaming and fast classes. Would upgrading my router help data move faster? None of my settings seem to put any strain on my CPU.

No that is not likely.

Well, that's a bummer. Guess It's time to move on to a game where the TTK isn't so low. I don't stand a chance if what I'm seeing is 250ms+ behind what everyone else is seeing.
