Package(s) will not install

Post by ldpinney »

Gargoyle 1.39 on DIR-825 ...

opkg install kmod-fs-ext3
Installing kmod-fs-ext3 (2.6.32.10-1) to root...
Downloading http://downloads.openwrt.org/backfire/1 ... ar71xx.ipk.
Not downgrading package kernel on root from 2.6.32.27-1 to 2.6.32.10-1.

/etc/opkg.conf
src/gz packages http://downloads.openwrt.org/backfire/1 ... x/packages

Is this the right repository? Looks like backfire and gargoyle have different kernels?

Update :
opkg install nmap

Collected errors:

* opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package nmap.

editing /etc/opkg.conf resolved the issue of packages not installing.
changed http://downloads.openwrt.org/backfire/1 ... x/packages
to http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/ ... x/packages
Now I need to figure out how to install those *huge* packages i.e. nmap to my USB drive
NOTE : Please edit the opkg.conf (I'm using 1.3.9 on ar71xx on DIR-825)
