Update backend...
In the meantime while waiting on next gargoyle release, is there anyway to manually update Openwrt backend to 10.03.1-rc4? hopefully without causing any problems.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but currently Gargoyle builds are based off revision 24025 of Backfire. RC4 was built at rev 24045. Of course, even that revision isn't the most current. It's at 24164 as of this post.
If you're comfortable enough to build it from the git repo, all you have to do is modify the full-build.sh file. Look at line #29. Remove the "24025" part and save it. When built, it will pull the latest rev of backfire source. Or replace it with "24045" and build with that revision. Then you've got Gargoyle built with an RC4 backend.
