Having trouble sharing a network printer with CUPS

Post by moeburn »

So I managed to get CUPS to install. For some reason it wouldn't install with opkg install cups, it wouldn't even install with opkg install http://directURLtoIPKfile, I had to copy the ipk to the drive and install from that, but I managed to get CUPS and a few of its dependencies installed, and it's working, and I can see the web UI.

I'm trying to take a networked ethernet printer, and reshare it through cups as an Airprint server - apparently cups can do that. But CUPS refuses to find the printer. It can't see it for some reason, and when I go to manually add it, it just says "Unable to get list of printer drivers" "internal server error". I have no idea what that means, and google doesn't give me anything helpful. Am I supposed to go download drivers for my HP Laserjet 4100?
