Buffalo v2 - WZR-HP-G300NH2
TP-Link TL-WR2543ND

err... surprisingly cannot find more tahn 3 candidate,
cannot find asus, linksis, d-link, too expensive, sufficient list from open wrt
also not adding other tp-link devices because lot of version, risk of newer firmware

I am pretty happy with my TL-WDR3600

Useful info here http://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/dok ... ed_routers
Can you help someone else get Gargoyle up and running?
TL-WDR3600 : Gargoyle 1.9.0 : NBN FixedWireless
TL-WR1043ND-V2 : Gargoyle 1.8.0 : 3G Huawei E160E

Out of those three, the Buffalo WZR HP G450H seems like the best because it has 2.4GHz/5GHz dual band and 32MB flash (so it should be supported by Gargoyle/OpenWRT for a long time). That TP Link has a small 8MB flash.

The WZR HP G300NH2 also has 32MB flash but is 2.4GHz single band. It's what I use as my primary/personal router and it works great as of 1.8.1/1.9. That said, if you're considering this one, keep an eye on eBay (or other websites) for used units because they sometimes sell cheap (not exactly a very popular router).
QoS Tip: Don't complicate your QoS settings. Gargoyle evenly splits available bandwidth between active devices as needed. Just delete all your classification rules and leave only one normal service class and you're done. No more arguing over bandwidth.

should i check if my devices support 5ghz?
and is it necessary to get dual band if max internet speed only 7mbps

and i find these on dd-wrt forum
UPDATE (September 2015):
PLEASE CONSIDER r27240 AS THE LAST FULLY TESTED VERSION FOR THE Rev0 PCB G450H (Open your router and look for PCB label if unsure - Remember this, as with altering firmware WILL invalidate your Buffalo Warranty and Support!)
THERE WILL BE NO MORE RELEASES FOR Rev0 PCBs AS THE >26MB BARRIER CONFIRMED BY HARLEKIN PREVENTS UPDATES
DO NOT UPDATE Rev0 G450H's to higher than r27240 - You WILL brick your router!

UPDATE 2 (September 2015):
PLEASE CONSIDER r27805 AS THE LAST FULLY TESTED VERSION FOR THE Rev1 PCB G450H (Open your router and look for PCB label if unsure - Remember this, as with altering firmware WILL invalidate your Buffalo Warranty and Support!)
THERE WILL BE NO MORE RELEASES FOR Rev1 PCBs AS THERE APPEARS TO BE A ~27MB BARRIER PREVENTING UPDATES
DO NOT UPDATE Rev1 G450H's to higher than r27805 - You WILL brick your router!
is it safe to use g450 with gargoyle 1.9?

thx

We are all in the same boat, Router purchase is a risk
