Some simple questions about Gargoyle

Post by nicholes »

Also tell me ..

1. can gargoyle limit the speed of each device connected to the network.

2. can gargoyle tell me how much megabytes each device has used?

3. Can i stop or disconnect each device's internet after a limit is used by a specific device automatically ?

4. I am having trouble in finding what firmware i needed,

Firmware Version:
3.10.2 Build 100621 Rel.57850n
Hardware Version:
iB-WRX150N v1 00000000

Does this means i need to find only "150N" and go for it?

5. Can i install gargoyle in some WiFi MODEM (DSL) or this is made for only routers?

sorry for my bad english

I can find no reference to your device at OpenWRT so unfortunately it is unsupported.

If you are interested to purchase a great Gargoyle router then I am very happy with my TP-link WDR3600 but there are many other choices http://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/dok ... ed_routers

I found all those router which support gaygoyle are out of my budget or they are costly.

can anyone suggest me the cheapest router that could run gargoyle?

I found some threads "Best router" but not any for the cheapest one

The TL-WR841N v9.1 with 1.8.0 reported by @jmiacroix has the bare minimum specs 32MB RAM and 4MB Flash and as such is presumably pretty cheap.

You get what you pay for.

There are plenty of "cheap" routers that will "run" gargoyle. But they will be limited in features and in general do a poor job of it.

Flash memory is very important, it is the physical limitation for how much fits on the router.
Processing speed is very important, it is the limitation of how much it can do at once or how quickly.
