QoS not accurate?

Post by fit »

Hi.

I post 2 pics, one about my QoS download cfg and the other from my QoS Bandwidth Distribution status...

I don't understand why if i configured the my "normal" class at maximum use of 93% of my download bandwidth, it uses more than that (as showing on the status page pic).

The default download class is also the normal class. !

I have a poor adsl bandwidth, but i love online gaming but i share my connection with other person. If she watch youtube's vids, i feel the bad latency.

I readed the documentation on the wiki of this site but i just can't understand why the limit i'm configuring doesn't work.

My rules are very basic, i don't need any more complex things here.

I have no problems with my QoS upload configuration.

Thanks,
Sergio.

Your game seems to require only 50kbps according to the data you posted. So then the Normal class can take all remaining bandwidth which is what is happening.

How about posting your ACC section? Is it operating correctly? ACC is responsible for maintaining your ping times for online gaming.

Yes, my game requires only 50kbps but if i say normal class must use max 2800 kbps, why it goes above its own limit?

i add my acc pic

ACC is stuck in the CHECK state so it is not working for you. It means the ping target you entered is not responding. Select another ping target. How did you select this one? One choice for you might be OpenDNS server 208.67.222.222.

When ACC gets out of the CHECK state then your lag will disappear and life will be good my friend.

2831/2800 = 1.01 so the error is 1%. That is good accuracy and not related to your lag problem.

i didn't looked for any ip, it appears there automatically (is my isp gateway).

I put your ip and now says idle. What it must to say? active?

i'm on south america (argentina), maybe i should look for a local ip ? :o

thanks man.

Idle means that the connection is without almost any load at that moment. It should work now :)

thanks. But if i ping to 208.67.222.222 (opendns ip), my ping is more than 200. Maybe i understand it wrong, but ACC takes this ping as a limit reference for control my RTT ping (applying on gaming in may case), but it's useless for me if ACC think that the limit is 200.

Should i look for another random internet ip (maybe local of my country) that pings below 50 so ACC limit is that? :O

Your best bet is to look to the nearest router that responds.

Open cmd and execute the command:
tracert 8.8.8.8

then write down the first IP on the list that not belongs to your house's network, use that IP on gargoyle ACC.

But appears that your connection has high latency even with no load at all.. is it ADSL?
