TP-Link WR1043ND v1.10 vs v2.1

Post by barefootguru »

Hi, I have the previous Gargoyle Shop model TP-Link WR1043ND v1.10.

I like supporting open source and also having the latest toys 8-)

Is there likely to be a noticeable difference upgrading to the v2.1?

OpenWrt shows v2 as having twice the RAM and almost twice the CPU speed http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl- ... d#hardware

We've got a pretty serious gigabit + Wi-Fi home network, but Gargoyle RAM usage sits around 50-60%, and 0.38 / 0.10 / 0.07 is high for 'top'.

If the new router had wireless AC an upgrade would be a no brainer, but postage to New Zealand is a killer, so having a hard time justifying an upgrade... any help appreciated 8-)
