Benefits of zero restriction QoS

Hello,
I'm running 1.5.8 with QoS disabled. Reading the forums I see that you can benefit from simply having QoS enabled. Not sure if it invokes any special code or anti bufferbloat.
The question being, I don't need QoS priority queuing as such as I don't have any bandwidth issues. However, would I benefit from having QoS simply enabled and if so how do I configure it so it has no priority queuing effect.
In short, enable QoS but open the flood gates.
I think that makes sense.
Thanks everyone.
