Sell routers loaded with gargoyle

Post by jorgemiguel4 »

Hello, here in my country(Portugal) is not possible to buy from Gargoyle's shop.
So I'm thinking to start a business selling routers loaded with Gargoyle or OpenWRT. This way people who worry about bricking their router can enjoy this fabulous firmware.

The price will be Hardware Cost + labor(install and test).

Is that legal?

Regards

As long as you don't charge for the Gargoyle element then you should be fine. It is covered under the gnu licence terms and conditions.

Hello,

Thank you for reply.

Exactly, I will only charge for installation, configuration(if necessary) and testing.

So this way I will be fine, right?

Unless Eric or one of the actual mods reply then you have to follow those terms. They look ok to me but I can understand your reticence.

It's legal if you provide the full source code

But remember to donate an amount of your profit to Eric and OpenWRT, this is the way opensource projects survive

For source code can I provide a URL to gargoyle's site?

New ideia:
But I don't know if it's possible... Since I'm good with electronics and have the necessary equipment, I can easily upgrade RAM, eg from 32 to 64MB on some TP-Link routers.
