Hello. I want to use a WA901ND to connect to an open WiFi and use it as my WAN, and then generate my own WiFi for my LAN.
I saw that there are tutorials for extending a WiFi but all use it as if it were the same network. I do not want that. I want all my traffic to be routed. I want my lan to have it's own subnet and my devices to be invisible from outside.
Is that possible? It's like extending a WiFi but still routing all the traffic.

yes, but..... your router is not supported.
If your router is really old (version) you might be able to find and old gargoyle firmware?
Old firmware has security issues.......
