searching for: Router that provides POE

Post by ektus »

Hi there,

do you know of a router that

1) Runs Gargoyle (obviously :-)
2) Has GBit-Ports (100MBit if all else fails) and WiFi
3) Provides POE on it's ports

I'd need one to connect vie WiFi and deliver power to another device.

Are there any such routers around? I could of course use POE injectors or a POE switch, but that's two devices instead of one.

Regards
Ektus.

There's not a whole lot of routers that have POE built in, so I'm not sure if a device that hits all those points exists. Ubiquiti has a couple of EdgeRouter models that have built in POE and are Gig but there's no WiFi (because they want you to run UniFi APs) and I don't think they run DD-WRT based firmwares.

Probably the closest thing you'll find that ticks off all the boxes is the Linksys wrt32x. It has Gigabit, AC Wireless, and there's a Gargoyle build. I think it's the newest router that supports Gargoyle. But no POE.

I've got lots of routers running Gargoyle, the newest being Archer C7, that's not the point. I'm looking for one that also provides POE, otherwise I can just take one of my spare routers and POE injectors to get the job done.
