The way you changed the password was with the passwd command?

Hit enter while it shows the "keepalive lines" every second
Like ar71xx_wdt_keepalive: 0xffb43480 ADR=b806000c "
It than prints" root@gargoyle:/#
type " passwd "
You type the new passw
repeat the new password
it than prints Password changed successfully

While you are typing and a fraction of a second after you hit "enter" the' keepalive lines" keep on coming, which was quite confusing the first 2 times i did it.
One needs to ignore those lines and and just follow through with changing the pass.
