Question about downloads

Post by Gravity »

I'm experimenting with an old Dir-615 e3, and I found posts on here talking about factory images for it (well, dir-600 a1, but they are working well enough after the hardward id edit) what I don't understand is why dir-600 doesn't appear anywhere in the available download options of Atheros AR71xx. Not one. Is there somewhere else I can look at a raw list of images, or some option to toggle to let me see all images?

Gargoyle does not compile any versions of the DIR-600 by default.
As they have only 4MB of flash, support is not likely to be added either.

You can custom compile for yourself of course.

I'm not pretending to speak from a position of any authority, I'm just going by the download links I've found all through the forums here. For instance: (w)ww.gargoyle-routerdotcom/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8045
which has links in the discussion for factory images for dir-615 c1. How were these other people finding them? That's all I'm really looking for.

Well 600 is very different to 615. I misinterpreted the 2 different models you listed.
But the issue remains the same.
Due to low flash space, these devices are likely not supported anymore.

The 615 images are still built by the compiler process, so for some versions of you guess the URL you may be able to download them.
However, given the limited flash space; they make not generate at all anymore, so even if you guess the URL, you can’t get it because it doesn’t exist.

There is no “list” so to speak, but the images that are attempted to be built are covered here:
