How do I setup WDS or Bridge Repeater in Gargoyle

Post by atomic »

Hi Everyone,

I have a TP Link 1043ND (White box - v1.x) which is running Gargoyle firmware 1.81.
The 1043ND is doing PPoE authentication for my ADSL 2+.
I have a Billion 7401 modem which is in Bridge mode.

The 1043ND router is connecting through a TP Link Power Line Ethernet adapter.

Along with this, I have an Apple Air Port Extreme which is in another corner of the House acting as an AP near the bedrooms which provides a strong signal.

What am I trying to setup?
I have two Wireless Routers which are providing me Internet access across two corners of my House.
I want to be able to travel with my Laptop from my front lawn/driveway to the back garden in the backyard without dropping my Wireless connection as I move between the Wireless Routers.

I read that I can get both the AP setups to act as one.
Extending the RANGE of the Wireless signal.

I read that there are two ways of getting this potentially done.
WDS or Wireless Distribution System or Bridge Repeater mode.

What I want to know is how do I setup "AP WDS" or
"Bridge Repeater" on the Gargoyle Router?

Is it possible to do this with a Apple Airport Extreme?

If not, then I do have a TP Link WDR 4300 N750 router which I can flash with DD-WRT or Gargoyle and get both units working with the same chipset and firmware build.

I have tried to find a guide which explained the setup process, but I have been unable to find anything relevant.

I don't think this is possible with gargoyle
