Basic router to monitor data usage (US)

Post by bwmonitor »

Hello

Comcast has been telling me that I have been going over the 1TB limit each month (also says that it started happening after they started enforcing the monthly limit...). I want to put in a router to monitor data usage (only). I don't want to replace the setup I have (mesh wifi) so, ideally, a wired router (or one with wifi turned off). I am hoping I can get something inexpensive (in the US) that would allow me to get this data so I can make adjustments on usage. Ideas on routers that fit the bill?

Thanks.
RG

Hi yes you can use Gargoyle as your mane router. Just set it up with the wifi turned off and plug the APs in to your lan ports. Most routers that can run Gargoyle will do as long as you don't have verry fast internet. If you have A verry fast connection you would have to get somthing like the WRT1900AC but if not then you can use any of the other routers in my sig.
Linksys WRT3200ACM
NETGEAR Nighthawk R7800
NETGEAR R6260
