Exroot using powered USB hub

So my exroot USB storage is /dev/sda1 currently on the primary (only) partition on my only USB hard disk.

If I put the USB drive through a powered USB 4 port hub instead of directly in my netgear wndr3800, what do I need to do so the exroot is read? Last attempt did not mount the drive.

I'm trying to add USB Camera and printer to my 1.9.1 gargoyle setup.
