I have installed gargoyle 1.6.0 to TL-WR1043ND v.1.8
Wifi is rock solid. inSSIDer shows that my router is in 40 MHz mode and max rate can be 300Mbits, but in my network status I can see, that link speed is only 72Mbits, not maximum wifi cards 150Mbits. How to fix this problem?

Installed through web interface on WZR-HP-G300-NH V2. Same problem as before: Unit fails to boot. Working on a custom build now to see what the problem is. Will update as I have details.

Opened the router up and checked the serial output. It's getting a bad magic number. Uploading the TFTP version over serial now to see if that will work.

Well, I've tried all three. Nothing working:

Code: Select all

ar7100> loady

## Ready for binary (ymodem) download to 0x81F00000 at 115200 bps...
CC## Total Size = 0x008400d0 = 8650960 Bytes
ar7100> iminfo

## Checking Image at 81f00000 ...
   Bad Magic Number
Any ideas?

Have you tried TFTP-ing the DD-WRT images back on?

I've had this issue with other Buffalo routers after repeatedly
flashing back/forth between different firmwares.

Never had it happen on the WZR-HP-G300NH V1's though (luckily)

EDIT: Whoops - forgot - you have to do a couple things:

1) Download this file from here in the Downloads section
gargoyle_1.6.0-ar71xx-generic-wzr-hp-g300nh2-squashfs-tftp.bin

2) Grab a freeware Hex Editor program

3) Hex Edit the file you just downloaded and remove the first
32 bytes of the file so that it starts with -- 27 05 19 56

23 20 41 69 72 73 74 61 74 69 6f 6e 20 50 75 62
6c 69 63 20 46 6d 74 31 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

Delete those 2 lines at the start of the file

That is the magic # that the UBoot is looking for

4) Serial flash the hex-edited file and your router should boot

I ended up serial flashing my old image back onto the router for now but I'll hex edit that file and try serial uploading it when I have time. Thanks!

Hi All,

My Buffalo WZR-HP-AG300H with Gargoyle 1.6.0 has been up for 45 days and last week my router crashed/reboot by itself.

And today I tried to change some configuration on my QoS download page and then after I click save, it crash/reboot again.
after the reboot, I tried to do my changes again and as soon as I click save, it reboots by itself.

Tried to restore my configuration file from the backup, and when I try to navigate between some pages on the router's configuration page the router reboot by itself.

Re-flashed my router back to gargolye 1.5.11 as it seems I haven't experienced this problem on this version.

Just want to let you guys know about this problem, may be some users have experience the same crash/reboot problem.

Regards to all.
